What better way to introduce a candidate to a community than to do so when you have the Minister without Portfolio & Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi there to help promote you and to talk to local residents.

Zahir Ahmed, Conservative Candidate for the Bevois Ward, was the lucky candidate on 24th November, who proudly took his place at the front table next to the inspiring Sayeeda Warsi and joined with community leaders and the Leader and Deputy Leader of Southampton's Conservative Council, Royston Smith and Jeremy Moulton.
The hall was packed for the event with both residents and community group leaders present.

Baroness Warsi spoke superbly, giving an inspiring talk on 'Common Sense Conservatism'. She spoke about the need to work hard for life's rewards and was scathing about the disastrous Labour legacy of the "Something for Nothing" culture and about how older generations would be ashamed to think of today's generation accepting this as a way of life.
As inspiring speakers go Baroness Warsi is amongst the best.
A question and answer session followed with questions on a variety of topics ranging from student fees to foreign affairs. Baroness Warsi was refreshingly frank in her replies.

Baroness Warsi stayed to sample some of the excellent hospitality provided by the members of the Abu Bakr Masjid Mosque and we are very grateful to them for hosting this excellent event.
