CONSERVATIVE COUNCILLOR FIRST ELECTED IN 1994

"I am proud to be representing Bassett and the people of Southampton and hope that my good work can be continued should I be re-elected at next May's local elections"

Councillor John Hannides was first elected to Southampton City Council in 1994 and is aiming to be re-elected by the Bassett Ward at May's 2012.

He has served as the Conservative Party's spokesman for Education, Social Services, Housing, Transport and Leisure. He is presently serving as the Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Heritage.

CONSERVATIVE COUNCILLOR LAST ELECTED IN 2010

"Having been elected in 2010 I understand many of the issues which affect the people of Bassett, working tirelessly on their behalf I try to help the residents and Residents Associations to resolve issues concerning them."

Councillor Beryl Harris is happily married with 2 sons and has lived and worked in the area of Southampton for in excess of 20 years. Beryl currently resides in Bassett. Beryl enjoys various pursuits including golf and the gym.

The majority of Beryl's working life was spent within the construction and allied industries working for both small and large companies, starting as a clerk in a sales environment, she finished on the board of directors. The reason for her success has been a clear strategy to achieve specific goals plus and most important working with a TEAM.

CONSERVATIVE COUNCILLOR LAST ELECTED IN 2011

"I have lived in Bassett in excess of 25 years and really feel that I have an understanding of important local issues and the needs of residents."

Following a successful career in Law and Management and before formally retiring, Councillor Les Harris decided to use his legal doctorate and expertise by lecturing in Law and Business at various Institutions. He continued as a Chartered Educational Assessor with CIEA inspecting school assessment processes.

Having been elected in 2011 Les is committed to working on behalf of others, no task is too challenging and he will serve the local residents to the best of his ability.
