in this ward for more then 17 years. I believe in practical politics
which benefit people and improves their lives. I fully understand
the aspirations of our young and the growing needs for our
communities to work together for a better future"
Zahir is currently living in Bevois and has a family of 6 children who were all born and educated in Southampton. The services provided by the local council including education, health, transport and security help to create an environment where its nice to bring up a family and benefit from the broader community experience. This is the reason Zahir wishes to become a Councillor and play his part in creating a great Southampton.
Zahir has worked tirelessly for the community of Bevois, Nicholas town and Newtown area for many years. Participating in many local projects from Derby Road 'Ropewalk Garden' to extensively helping in inter-faith activities through Southampton Council of Faiths. Zahir is also Vice-Chairman of Southampton Central Mosque Trust. For 5 years Zahir was non-executive Director of Southampton City Primary Care Trust, where he helped to improve NHS service delivery.
Zahir is one of the leading figures in the community and looks forward to serving you with all his energy and sincerity.
