October 2011 update

Road Resurfacing Work The resurfacing of a section of Peartree Avenue, from Bitterne down to and including the five-way junction at Spring Road, will begin in November following the current gas works.

Councillor Matt Jones has welcomed the work: "While this will unfortunately extend the traffic problems that local motorists have had to endure, the scheduling of the two works together means the new surface will not need to be dug up in the near future, prolonging its life".

The comprehensive work will include the carriageway, pavements and drains, which will hopefully put an end to the pooling water problems that residents have contacted Matt about.
