Peartree Police Priorities...

September 2011 update

Peartree Police on the beat

The Police hold regular public meetings to consult with the community on what their priorities should be for the area, in addition to their normal patrols and activities.

Councillor Matt Jones attended the last meeting, and after discussion these priorities were agreed:

* Anti-Social Behaviour in Lavender Close and Magnolia Road, Merryoak. A rollover of an existing priority.

* Heavy lorries and speeding traffic on Athelstan Road, cycling on the pavement and other traffic offences on Garfield Road. Matt was particularly keen to have this priority added having spoken recently to many concerned residents.

* Speeding and other traffic offences on Sholing Road, Middle Road, Spring Road, Merryoak Road and Radstock Road. Another existing priority.

Other priorities were discussed, but where problems didn't make it onto the official list they will still be monitored.

If you would like to suggest a priority for the next meeting, you are welcome to attend - details are on Hampshire Constabulary's website - or you can send your suggestions to Matt Jones using councillor.m.jones@southampton.gov.uk or the writing to the Itchen Conservatives office address which is on our Contact Page.
