Anthony Kolker
CONSERVATIVE COUNCILLOR LAST ELECTED IN 2010
" I decided to come into politics to give a little back to a city that has looked after me. We could have chosen other cities to settle in but Southampton was the place that gave us the opportunity to create a business for ourselves, for which I am eternally grateful"
Anthony's father was a patent lawyer whose grandparents came to the UK from Ukraine. He was Educated at Bristol University and Gloucester obtaining a first in Business Studies and Economics after which he worked briefly in Washington DC within a law firm - a time that leads to his only regret that Southampton doesn't have fresh bagels on every street corner!
Anthony has now made Southampton his home with his partner Sonya after previously running 2 successful cafe businesses in the centre of town during the 1990's and growing in love with the people of Southampton and the city itself.
As the youngest of 3 brothers, Anthony now works for a local distribution company in the wholesale of coffee and tea supplies to all around the country. He is also a director of a small firm that produces precision cut plastics including coffee stencils to all over the world.
His hobbies include sailing (when he can find the time) and Anthony has sailed in events on the Solent and in the Bay of Biscay off France. He also plays golf (badly).
