The Labour-run council wants to reintroduce evening parking charges in the city centre. The previous Conservative administration removed these to encourage people back into Southampton after the pandemic and support businesses and city centre workers. Now is not the time to force everyone to pay more when prices are on the increase for individuals and businesses alike.![]()
Don't let Labour take more of your money. Make your thoughts known on the consultation at the link below. ![]()

We love being out during the summer, the longer evenings and better weather make it the perfect time for us to keep in touch with local people and that's exactly what we've been doing over the last month. We've had hundreds of conversations about what matters to people in Southampton and we'll keep working hard to make sure we're the right local choice that will stand up for our city at next year's elections.![]()
You'll begin to hear a lot more about our plans for Southampton over the coming months, so keep an eye on our page and if you'd like to help out, let us know!
Since the local elections last month, we've been out across the city from Redbridge to Harefield keeping in touch with local people. Although Labour now control the council, we achieved some great things during our year in office; investing in our roads to repair more potholes, providing more parking for our estates and freezing council tax so people keep more of their money. These were all promises we made and promises we kept. We went further too, introducing 20mph limits in areas where local people wanted them, something Labour insisted for years could not be done. ![]()
Next year, every council seat in Southampton will be up for election. This will be our chance to take back the council from Labour, build on the fantastic things we did over the last year and truly make Southampton a better place to live. Until then, we're looking forward to visiting more communities, knocking more doors and helping more people with the issues that matter to them.
Local Conservatives resufaced 92 roads and pavements and fixed over 5,000 potholes in the one year we ran the council, and we also sorted out this dreadful cutway in #portswood which had been ignored for years by Labour. #keepingourpromises
Its great news that our work on 20mph limits for local roads is progressing. There was a huge response to our policy launch last year and as a local party we have been campaigning for safer streets for a decade. ![]()
Some of the first schemes for formal statutory consultation are in #Shirley and #freemantle, as well as Bitterne Park, Highfield and other districts of Southampton.![]()
